The Gauntlet Challenge- Day Five

I can be a student and still have fun! How great is that?!

Groupon is a site that offers daily deals for a wide variety of things. My favorite that I’ve seen so far is a manatee snorkeling tour!!! How thrilling!

Sorry, got a little excited. I think I’m going to like Groupon, though. I, naturally, picked the first thing I could enjoy as well as learn from. I’ve always been interested in marine biology.

Of course, the manatee tour is 3 hours away from me, so it would be something to plan a road trip for.

I don’t know if I can post a link to this site because you have to sign up with your email and physical address so that they can offer deals in your general area. However, I’m sure you can go to http://www.groupon.com just to see what it’s about.

Now this one is fantastic. I wish I’d known about Google Scholar much sooner. I can guarantee I’ll be using this whether I’m in school or not.

Google Scholar can help you find legitimate sources for research papers. You can use it to search for “scholarly articles, excerpts, and documentation.”

On a side note, someone at work challenged me yesterday. She basically called me crazy for enrolling in college now in the midst of losing my roommate, working two jobs and getting my hours cut in one. I get it. It seems like terrible timing. But when exactly is good timing? Prior to now, I delayed because I was still adjusting to my new situation here. Before that, I delayed because I didn’t have a car or access to anything. Before that, the list goes on and on, and frankly just gets worse. There is never going to be a perfect time. I am 25 years old and ready to take charge of my own life right now. I know I can do this and no one can tell me different.

Maybe I am crazy. I’m going to be juggling two jobs, an exercise routine that I’ve just committed to with someone, school, roommate search, and multiple art projects in my attempt to sell and make enough money to afford rent on my own. And that’s just a list of the bigger things. I still think I can do it. And if my life has taught me anything, it is that with determination and perseverance I can reach my goals.
